**Please Note: Alfalfa honey from Utah naturally has a very low water content. This means the honey will crystallize quickly. This is normal. You can reverse crystallization by placing closed jar of honey in a warm water bath OR simply enjoy this honey in its crystallized state.

Our Honey Characteristics:

Unfiltered - Retains some beeswax and pollen - commercial packers typically filter their honey to create a clear visually appealing product. (read about the benefits of honey here)

Unprocessed - Never warmed over 118 degrees.  Commercial packers typically cook their honey at 140 - 160 degrees to deter crystallization.

Packed in a Glass Airtight Jar with Security Seal- to preserve quality and taste and to make shipping more economical.  Suitable for long term food storage.  Easier to soften or liquify in glass using oven or water bath because of characteristics of glass.  Glass jar is reusable and reduces carbon footprint.  

About Alfalfa Honey

Our Alfalfa Blossom honey is a mild-flavored monofloral honey. It only has one pollen source: alfalfa blossoms. Alfalfa honey is known for its mild sweetness and smooth texture. It is often described as having a subtle slightly grassy or vanilla-like taste. It is generally less sweet than clover honey, but still sweet and versatile enough to use in a variety of ways. Use it to sweeten tea or coffee, in baking, or as a natural sweetener for a variety of foods and desserts.

This honey is packaged into glass jars with at least 12 oz Alfalfa honey per jar. 

Alfalfa is generally not allowed to flower but when it does, it produces a lovely flower that is purple, white, or yellow. It produces pollen during long hot summer months when other plants can dry up. 

We gently warm our honey to make it pourable, ensuring it is not completely liquid. Unlike typical grocery store honey, our honey is considered raw and meets all the requirements mandated by the State of Utah for raw honey labeling. Our Alfalfa Blossom honey will naturally crystallize (often quickly), typically forming a smooth, creamy texture. This is pure, raw honey that crystallizes naturally, not whipped or creamed.
